Heavenly Father:
With all the sitcoms on TV, it's so easy to get sarcastic and cynical in our homes. Remind me of the power of my words. Let me use my words to build people up instead of shredding them. Make me an instrument of healing. Use my mouth to challenge others to become all that You created them to be. Father, help me have an attitude of gratitude to You. Without You, I am lost. Help me catch others doing good and praise them. Thanks for the many ways You encourage me through Your Word, and through other people. I'm asking You to change me so that I'll consistently strive to add value to the lives of those around me.
